Jesus Loves Me (3 Year Old Kevin) – For the Least, Last, and Lost

I was three years old and my dad had this tape deck with two floor speakers. It had the ability to hook up two small microphones. This is where the love affair of speaking on a sound system came from. My dad used to record my grandfather playing guitar so I get my musical talents honestly. Dad used to turn the stereo on and ask if we wanted to record on these things some of you may remember called cassette tapes.

Recently my dad wanted me to transfer these tapes to cd so he could listen to them in the truck. That’s when I ran across a moment about 10 minutes long where we were all in the living room except for Mom. She was in the kitchen. Dad turned it on and all I wanted to do was talk on it. My middle brother, Robby, talked a little on it but my older brother, Victor, and Mom didn’t want anything to do with it. Robby asked me if I knew any songs and I began to sing Jesus Loves Me. I learned it at church.  The funny lyrics I sang were,

“We are weak but He are strong.”

Pure country for a three-year old. These obviously are some great memories of my family. I wish that I could remember them but I was too young for memory. I just knew I needed to include this recording on my new cd for all to enjoy.

You can pick up the new cd at Noisetrade.
