8.19.12 Worship Rewind

  • Today Is The Day – Lincoln Brewster
  • Grace Like Rain – Todd Agnew
  • Because Of Your Love – Phil Wickham
  • Mighty To Save – Hillsong
  • On A Plain – Nirvana

Today has been an absolute great day. We started a moment of corporate prayer at 7:30 before first service where we prayed together and walked through the church and laid hands on everything; the seats, the instruments, the class rooms. It was really good. Pastor Carlo had a great message on justification. That guy just has a great gift of communication.

During worship, I really felt God moving. We started off with a new song (for us) by Lincoln Brewster was Today Is The Day. The band played it really well and  sounded great. My team just plain rocks!

Yes we still play Grace Like Rain. Yes, I know that was a long time ago. But the song still rocks and our church still loves it. I actually like it better than Chris Tomlin’s version of Amazing Grace. So shoot me. Lol

Let me tell you our piano player is kicking it. I asked her to start this song off and she knocks it out of the park. Thankful for her serving heart and willing to step out on faith by starting a song she’s unsure of. Way to go Heather. I asked her to begin Because Of Your Love and she did great. I backed her a little with clean guitar till the band came in. I love my drummer thinks if he loses tempo he can count on “chuck” which are my converse shoes.

Lastly Mighty To Save which is always good to sing!

We are still in our Come As You Are series and playing a Nirvana song each week. This week we played On A Plain and Pastor Carlo who simply is an amazing drummer sat in with us to play and I have to say this is my favorite song of all Nirvana songs we’ve played. Next week we’re doing Smells Like Teen Spirit with a different arrangement. I’m thankful I have a church that knows how to rock and have a good time in worship.
